Mercy & Truth opened its parking lot at 721 N. 31st Street for another F.I.R.S.T. Tuesday. With school out and prices climbing, families from across Greater Kansas City gathered for a free morning of care and connection: preventive health screenings at the Mobile Health Clinic, free food, free clothing, free hot dogs, a fire truck, a visit from a live princess Cinderella, and a whole lot of fun. In honor of Men's Health Month and this year's national theme, Partners in Care, the morning also offered free resources and screenings for the men in our community and the families who love them. Everything was free, and everyone was welcome.

This May, Mercy & Truth honored National Women's Health Month with our Caring for Women, Caring for Families F.I.R.S.T. Tuesday. Neighbors from across Greater Kansas City joined us for free preventive screenings, fresh groceries, and conversations on heart health, mental wellness, and the everyday preventive care that supports the women holding so much together. The morning was a reminder that when we care for the women in our community, families and futures grow stronger.

This April, Mercy & Truth was honored to host Dr. Barney S. Graham and Dr. Cynthia Turner-Graham at Lamb Auditorium for The Intersection of Faith and Science: For Such a Time as This. A full room gathered to hear from two of medicine's most respected voices, with decades of experience in research, mental health, and global health leadership. The conversation reached far beyond any single field, exploring how faith and science can work together to bring real healing to people and communities. This event marked the launch of Mercy & Truth's ongoing Faith and Science series, an invitation to keep wrestling with these questions as a community.

In April, members of the Mercy & Truth team traveled to Covington, Kentucky for the annual Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF) Conference, themed "Fear Not." The conference gathers hundreds of practitioners, support staff, and students from across the country who are dedicated to serving marginalized communities through faith-driven healthcare. Our team spent time worshipping, learning from fellow faith-based health leaders, and exchanging best practices for extending Christ's love through excellent, whole-person care. The conversations and connections from CCHF will continue to shape how Mercy & Truth serves our Kansas City community and beyond.

This April, Mercy & Truth CEO Brent Morris joined Chris Meikel of Bott Radio Network's Special Encounter, alongside Mercy & Truth financial consultant Chris Graham, to discuss the launch of the Faith and Science Series. The conversation covered what makes Mercy & Truth unique, from whole-person and mental health care to multicultural outreach, and previewed the April 18 event featuring Dr. Barney S. Graham and Dr. Cynthia Turner-Graham. Brent and Chris shared why bringing faith and science into the same conversation matters, and how Mercy & Truth is working to close the care gap for the communities we serve.

This spring, Mercy & Truth CEO Brent Morris traveled to Washington D.C. for his first national conference as Vice Chair of the NACHC Faith-Based Task Force. In that role, he is helping shape the programs and policies that support faith-based health centers across the country. His presence at the table means that organizations like Mercy & Truth, rooted in faith and committed to whole-person care, have a direct voice in the national conversation about healthcare access, community health equity, and the future.

This spring, Mercy & Truth introduced F.I.R.S.T. Tuesdays, a new monthly outreach bringing free health screenings, fresh groceries, and community resources together on the first Tuesday of every month at 721 N. 31st Street, Kansas City, Kansas. The initiative reflects the ministry's belief that access to care should be consistent, welcoming, and close to home. By meeting people where they are and removing barriers to preventive health, F.I.R.S.T. Tuesdays is building a foundation for stronger, healthier families across Wyandotte County.

Brent Morris, CEO of Mercy & Truth Healthcare Ministry, will serve as Vice Chair of the newly established National Association of Community Health Centers' (NACHC) Faith-Based Task Force. In this national leadership role, Morris will help shape policies, best practices, and programs that strengthen faith-based health centers and expand access to care nationwide.

Mercy & Truth has launched its Mobile Health Clinic to bring Life-Changing Care directly to the people who need it most in Kansas City. From preventive screenings to health education, the clinic meets families where they are, breaking down barriers to care. This initiative reflects the heart of Mercy & Truth: walking alongside neighbors, providing hope, and making healthcare truly accessible for every person in our community.
