Making an Impact Through Community Events

March 21, 2023:  SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Mercy and Truth’s Spring has Sprung event offered individuals and families FREE COVID vaccine/boosters ($25 gift card for pre-registration), food, household safety info/giveaways, personal hygiene kits, medical screenings, cleaning supplies, and a drawing for Royals tickets. Seventy-two families received free food and nine individuals received COVID vaccines/boosters.
December 13, 2022:  FOOD PANTRY WITH SANTA
Santa came to our bi-monthly Mobile Food Pantry (served by Church of the Resurrection). Approximately 80 families received a food box and turkey, and were offered medical screenings, hot chocolate, and free photos with Santa.

November 15, 2022:  Diabetes Awareness Event

November is Diabetes Awareness month and Mercy and Truth offered free A1-C screenings. Free food, winter items, covid/booster and flu shots, along with blood pressure and vision screenings were also available.
September 24, 2022: Community Outreach
Mercy and Truth made it a September to Remember! Partnering with seven community organizations, we gave out free shingles shots, food boxes, shoes, and community resource information to help people get and stay healthy.

August 22, 2022:  Muffins With the Mayor

Mayor Garner visited Mercy and Truth for our annual Muffins With the Mayor. While here, he read the official proclamation for Community Health Center Week.

Kansas Senator Roger Marshall accepted our invitation to tour Mercy and Truth Medical Missions.

February 2022:  Love Your Neighbor event

Governor Laura Kelly, Chiefs tight end Noah Gray, and Church of the Resurrection’s Mobile Food pantry helped us show love to our community.    

Monthly Mobile Food Pantry

Every month, we host a mobile food pantry at our KCK location. The mobile food pantry is part of The Church of the Resurrection’s hunger ministry. Fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and other food items help address the hunger issues in our community.

Warm up Wyandotte/Boo To The Flu 2020

Warm up Wyandotte is a community event that keeps families healthy, warm and well fed. Two hundred free flu shots, turkeys and coats were successfully given away.

Muffins with the Mayor

Muffins with the Mayor is an informal gathering of the community that allows Unified Government Mayor, David Alvey to listen to residents concerns surrounding health and health outcomes.  ​

Advocacy Day

Advocacy Day is held every January in Topeka, Kansas at the Kansas State Capital. Mercy and Truth and other Safety Net Clinics talk to state representatives and senators about issues that impact the clinics and their patients.  ​
