Africa's Worst Enemy is Attacking Malawi

Malawi is a small country located in South Central Africa where the day to day lifestyle of Malawian residents has become one of survival against the biggest enemy ever to attack the world –AIDS.  Approximately 1/3 of all Malawians are all HIV positive.  Sadly, due to poor nutrition and lack of education the death toll from HIV/AIDS is rising higher than actually reported.  Families are victim to the enemy’s treachery and death as children are left homeless without food, clothing, basic life skills and parents.

This June a team from Mercy and Truth Medical Missions (MTMM) impacted the rural area of Kande Malawi with hope and healing.  Missionaries, Moffat and Rosemary Phiri of We Are One Ministries, are working in this area building a church, establishing an orphanage and giving hope to the hopeless.  Through the partnership of MTMM and We Are One, the team was able to treat over 800 patients from the Kande area.  Treatment included a variety of medications and health care treatments hand carried by the team from the United States.  100% of the money spent to send this team to Malawi went in the forms of broad spectrum antibiotics, cough and cold remedies, diagnostics and board certified professionals.

 
Our desire is to continue the treatment and health care in Malawi with We Are One Ministries by building a clinic in Kande. Initially we desire to obtain HIV/AIDS testing and treatment in the clinic especially to the pregnant women of the community, in hopes to save lives and stop the dreadful curse.  The clinic will bring hope to the hopeless in the dying country of Malawi. Mercy and Truth is currently raising funds for the clinic that will be operated by both US team and Malawians.  This unique partnership will not only make a difference in the deadly curse affecting Malawi but also enhance the education of the US team members.  Our hope and desire is to impact the work of the missionaries in Malawi with excellent health care and the hope of Jesus Christ.
