Providing
evangelistic health care has been the primary thrust of Mercy
&Truth Medical Missions short-term teams. We have sent several
teams into multiple developing countries over the last 7 years not
only providing evangelistic health care but also enhancing the work
of international missionaries, increasing health care education and
crossing cultural barriers with the love of Jesus Christ.
The ministry of Mercy & Truth Medical Missions has grown
to a network of International health care evangelism targeting the
continents of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Russia.
Our in-depth work side by side with International missionaries has
amplified the desire of Mercy &Truth to provide more than
short-term health care in countries where people are dying from
minor health related illnesses simply due to lack of health care
resources. Making an
impact with medical care not only saves lives it changes lives.
People are blessed by the demonstration of God’s love upon us that
we may give to others, and share the gospel of Jesus with them.
Sadly, we are faced with the problem that our team cannot
impact the health care needs on a day-to-day basis when we return
home. Frequently, we
leave an ample supply of medications and supplies with the National
health providers yet they quickly utilized but the need for
medications remains.
Through
the vision of Dr. Leslie Jansen, God is expanding our horizons
towards a greater commitment of his people in the long-term arenas.
Dr. Jansen believes God has given her a vision to build a
clinic in Malawi East Africa. Multiple
“divine appointments” brought Dr Jansen and Mercy
&Truth Medical Missions together to send a small medical team
into Northern Malawi in May 2002.
The team of 4 treated over 600 people various ailments and
witnessed to them about Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.
Many came to know Jesus as their Lord for the first time, and
several recommitted their lives to Jesus.
The local villages were so blessed and appreciated of the
teams hard work and desire to serve them in health care.
Upon completion of the clinic, Governmental Parliamentary and
local officials honored the team.
They were presented with Malawi fabrics and pictures in
gratitude of the work they had down in the village of Khombe.
In addition, as they official stood and presented their gifts
to the team, they encourage them to return, purchase land, build a
clinic, and continue the work we had just done in a long-term
fashion. Immediately, we accepted the offer and went to view a piece
of land to be a future Mercy &Truth Medical Missions clinic
site. The land is located in the village of Khombe on the western
coast of Lake Malawi.
We
encourage you to pray for this future clinic site in Malawi.
We are asking God for wisdom, resources, and His will to be
done.
